The Glenlivet 15 Year Old is a single malt scotch whisky that is deep in colour and rich in flavour. It gets its distinctive exotic character from a process of selective maturation where we age a proportion of the spirit in French oak casks.

Carefully aged in French oak casks, The Glenlivet 15 Year Old offers a unique, pleasing spiciness. The flavour features prominent notes of sweet fruits and nuts like almonds, while the aroma is wonderfully creamy, rich, and buttery. The subtle spice of this scotch lingers in the mouth long after you take the final sip.

The Glenlivet 15 Year Old works well with a variety of mixers from a splash of water or simple soda to orange juice and other spirits. The fruit and nut flavour of this whisky also lends itself to sophisticated serves that excite all the senses. Our Valley of the Bees cocktail, for example, combines The Glenlivet 15 Year Old with aromatic bitters, orange, lemon and heather for a fruity and floral drink that pays homage to the bees of the Scottish Highlands. Aged for a minimum of 15 years, The Glenlivet 15 Year Old is a distinctive expression. This is because it is matured in French Limousin oak casks. We were one of the first distilleries to use this type of oak for whisky making as it is usually used to age Cognacs. The Limousin oak we use is cut in France’s Dordogne region and its low density allows the whisky to penetrate deep into the wood. We carefully control how long the whisky matures in these oak casks so that the finished whisky is not overpowered but instead, has the perfect balance of sweetness and spice.
