12 WHISKY DRINKS FOR THANKSGIVING
It’s that time of year when the nights get longer, there’s a nip in the air and you start to think about swapping out your summer wardrobe for chunky knit sweaters and cosy boots.
As Christmas draws closer and the New Year creeps up, there’s another important event in the calendar to think about too. Thanksgiving takes place on the fourth Thursday in November. It’s a national holiday in the United States and Canada but is observed worldwide by friends and family wanting to celebrate the autumn harvest and express gratitude for the year so far.
Thanksgiving feasts are common, with roasted turkey taking centre stage accompanied by mashed potatoes, stuffing and homemade gravy. However, it’s not just the food that everyone looks forward to, the drinks are just as important when it comes to making fond memories and cementing family traditions.
Whether you are looking for warm whisky drinks to sip as you sit around a bonfire, the perfect whisky drinks for autumn to take away the chill or a whisky cocktail that is perfect for a toast after a slice of pumpkin pie, you are guaranteed to find something perfect in our pick of the best whisky drinks for Thanksgiving.

Golden Storm is our take on the classic whisky ginger cocktail and uses this much-loved ingredient to add sweetness and spice. The recipe also calls for soda water which creates a refreshing drink that is still perfect for serving at Thanksgiving get-togethers. If you want to double down on the nod to this wonderful spice, why not rustle up this cocktail after holding a family gingerbread person decorating competition and then enjoy your creations together?
The Side Kick
The perfect winter whisky cocktail for sipping on while you let your turkey dinner digest, The Side Kick cocktail is an amalgamation of a Sidecar and a Cameron’s Kick. It uses some of the most festive flavours, including sherry, almond, cinnamon and clove for a short, sour cocktail that tastes and smells delicious.
Cold Toddy
The Hot Toddy’s chilled-out twin, the Cold Toddy includes all the same characteristic flavours of citrus and spice but is served cold.
